Welcome to the Housing Innovation in Construction Program

Welcome

Welcome to the Housing Innovation in Construction (HIC) program, delivered by Investment NSW, within the Premier's Department.

Before applying, please read and understand the HIC Program Guidelines and have your supporting documents ready.

INTRODUCTION

Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) are innovative building approaches, such as prefabrication, volumetric or panelised systems, where significant construction work is carried out off-site.

The objective of the program is to encourage market entry and the establishment of MMC manufacturing operations in NSW to deliver mid to high-rise (Class 2/3) housing.

Engineering feasibility is a possible barrier to entry for MMC manufacturers. This program offers grants from $20,000 to $150,000 to eligible businesses in Australia and other countries seeking to deliver MMC solutions for Class 2/3 housing in NSW. Grants will fund 50% of the grantee's cost of commissioning external professional services to inform a Feasibility Study or Review to evaluate whether their existing MMC solution(s) comply with applicable Australian and NSW building standards.

Businesses who have previously completed one or more Feasibility Studies or Reviews under the program may apply for additional grant, provided they can demonstrate the need to conduct further assessment of their MMC solution(s). The maximum total funding that can be awarded to a single recipient is $300,000.

Please have the Program Guidelines open while you fill out this form - it will help you to complete your application.
